Students may enrol for the correspondence course by contacting us by telephone with their credit/debit card details. Alternatively click here for our registration form which you can download and print out then forward it to our office with your payment.
We will then dispatch your initial pack containing a
large coloured map of Edinburgh, additional map book, the latest edition of the Thomson's street directory, all necessary
stationery and the first two sections of the course (lessons A & B). When you feel that you have a thorough
knowledge of the material covered in lesson A, complete the first Progress
Test Paper, and return it to us in the stamped addressed envelope
provided. While you study the next lesson, (B), we will mark the first
test paper and return it along with lesson C. On receipt of the completed
test for B we will dispatch lesson D and so on.
This chain continues for the duration of the
course and there is no limit to how much time is taken between each
section. (We allow students up to one year in which to complete our course.) Please be honest when completing the test papers. Remember that there is no way to cheat when sitting the actual test at the Cab Office.
On completion of the basic course you are then invited to attend any of ourAssessment Classes (free of charge). These sessions are presently being held on a weekly basis and you will be expected to tackle "Full Mock Tests" under EXAM CONDITIONS. These tests are an extremely useful aid to finding any weak spots in the individual's study programme, giving potential candidates a realistic timescale to work towards the Cab Office Test. If you are unable to attend the Assessment Sessions, please let us know and we will make arrangements to post the mock exam papers to you for completion at home.
Just before the completion of the course we will advise you of the
procedure to be followed and the current cost of sitting the actual test.
During the course you are welcome to attend any of the evening classes for any lesson(s) with which you have experienced difficulties. You will also be most welcome to come along to the Route Planning, Places of Interest and Book-Keeping lectures at Boroughmuir School.
Attendance at all classes is FREE OF CHARGE.
All first class postage is
included in the cost of the course, along with any additional stationery
which may be required. If at any time you are unsure of any part of the
course, please do not hesitate to contact us for any help that we may be
able to offer.
Please call us on 01506 439783 for our current prices and any other information which you may require. We will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have concerning the course or CAB Office test procedures etc. |
